Availability: Out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on April 12th. I'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts though, but for me as a music student I put huge emphasis on matching music and instrumentation to setting/character/action e.g. Ruin Sentinels' theme, which is pretty uninspired and unfitting imo. This is in contrast to fantastic OST's such as O+S with the epic organ and choirs (and by extension, Pontiff), Gwyn's whose theme is as empty as the fight, Artorias' tragic theme, Nito's all consuming darkness in his music. They seemed much more like stock "epic music" rather than fitting to the character/fight(only exception I can think of is Vendrick, which is good, but not as good as Gwyn's). Bloodborne's great too, different style (Gothic vs Medieval of DS)įor me, I was underwhelmed by the DS2 OST.
